At three Rockbridge County Public Schools, interactive display panels replaced in–class projectors to enhance students’ engagement and performance. Teachers are learning how to make the devices interactive with students and front and center in the classroom.

Rockbridge County Public Schools prohibits students from using ChatGPT—an artificial intelligence chatbot that can write essays. Some teachers say they are afraid the chatbot will diminish students’ writing capabilities.
RCPS food service workers call for pay raise
Rockbridge County Public Schools paid food service workers $13 an hour, one dollar higher than the state’s required minimum wage. A survey of other school divisions shows Rockbridge County as one of the lowest-paying in the region.

The Floyd S. Kay Career and Technical Center underwent renovation. The center is expected re-open for the 2024-25 school year—and under a new name: The Rockbridge Innovation Center.
